Module:

1. LX3&LX5 series support max to 16 modules. (The module block number closest to the PLC host is 0.)

2. ALL modules could be used on LX3 series and LX5 series.

BD board:

1. All LX5 BD board could be used on LX3, all LX3 BD board (except LX3VP-ETH-BD and LX3V-2RS485-BD) could be used on LX5

2. LX5 BD board support but LX3 BD board don't support:  software configuration, analog calibration (offset and zero drift), support input filter strength setting. For details user can check in below link:

3. System register difference between LX3 BD and LX5 BD:

Protocol:

1. Maximum number of TCP connections: Both LX3VP-ETH-BD and LX5-N series are 8.

2. Maximum number of Modbus RTU connections: 32(master+31*slave)

I/O limit:

1. LX3 series maximum I/O points: Sum up IO module and PLC host IO, max to 256 I/O

2. LX5 series maximum I/O points: Sum up IO module, PLC host IO and PLClink mapping, max to 1024 I/O
